Khdemli is a Moroccan marketplace that connects people with local craftsmen in their own city. You search by trade, city and neighbourhood, compare profiles, job photos and customer reviews, then unlock the contact details of the professional you choose for a few dirhams. The call, the quote and the payment for the job happen directly between you and the craftsman — Khdemli takes no commission on the value of the work. This guide walks through every step, including what the platform does and, just as importantly, what it does not do.

Khdemli in one sentence

In Morocco, finding a good plumber or electrician still runs on word of mouth: you ask a neighbour, the grocer downstairs, a cousin. That works beautifully — as long as you happen to know somebody. Khdemli replaces that lottery with a structured directory of real craftsmen, organised by trade and city, with reviews left by verified customers. The reasoning behind it is set out in our article on why Khdemli exists.

Step 1 — Search by trade, city and neighbourhood

Everything starts on the Craftsmen page. Pick a trade from the fifteen categories the platform covers — plumber, electrician, painter, builder, carpenter, zellige and marble, gardener, home cleaning, appliance repair, auto mechanic, auto electrician, driver, security guard, satellite and TV — then choose your city. Larger cities are broken down into neighbourhoods, and that matters more than people expect: a craftsman based in your own district arrives faster and charges less for travel than one crossing the whole of Casablanca in traffic.

  • Filter by trade, for example plumbers or electricians
  • Filter by city, then narrow down by neighbourhood where available
  • Sort by rating, number of reviews or experience level
  • Spot professionals available at weekends or for urgent call-outs

Step 2 — Compare profiles before you contact anyone

Every craftsman has a full public profile, readable without an account and without paying a dirham. This is where the real decision happens: you are not picking a phone number at random, you are picking a profile you have actually read.

  • Profile photo and a gallery of completed jobs
  • Trades practised and experience level: beginner, intermediate or expert
  • City and neighbourhood covered
  • Average rating and total number of reviews
  • A verified badge when the profile has been checked by our team
  • Weekend availability and urgent call-out availability

Step 3 — Unlock the contact (and why numbers are hidden)

In the listings, full names are partly masked and phone numbers are never shown. That is not a sales trick: it is what protects craftsmen from automated scraping and number resale. Contact details — full name, phone and WhatsApp — are revealed after an unlock, charged to your Khdemli wallet. The price is displayed before you confirm, and the contact stays accessible for 15 days, which is comfortably enough to call, get a visit and follow a job through.

Tip

For a significant job, unlock two craftsmen rather than one. Comparing two quotes costs a few dirhams and regularly saves hundreds.

Step 4 — Call, get a quote, pay off-platform

Once you have the contact, the relationship is direct. Call, describe the problem, send photos on WhatsApp — a plumber can often assess a leak from a picture. Always ask for a quote before work starts: labour cost, whether materials are included, and an estimated duration. Payment for the job happens between you and the craftsman, in cash or by transfer, exactly as you agree. Khdemli is not part of that transaction and takes nothing from it.

Step 5 — Leave a review

After the work is done, rate the craftsman and write a short comment. Only a customer who genuinely unlocked that profile can review it, and only once per unlock — which is precisely what makes the ratings credible, unlike anonymous comments in a Facebook group. The full mechanism is explained in our guide to reviews and ratings.

What Khdemli does not do

Let us be direct, because trust is built as much on what a platform refuses to claim. Khdemli is not a construction company. We do not employ craftsmen, we do not set their prices, we do not guarantee the outcome of a job and we do not handle payment for the work. We provide the directory, the verification, the reviews and the introduction. Everything else — negotiation, quote, quality of execution — is between you and the professional. Our safety recommendations are collected on the Safety page.

The craftsman's side of the platform

A professional creates a profile free of charge from the craftsman sign-up page, lists their trades, city and job photos, and becomes visible in every matching search. There is no monthly subscription and no commission on their jobs: when a customer unlocks their contact, a small amount is charged to their own wallet, exactly as it is for the customer. That two-sided design is explained in the article on the Khdemli model.

Frequently asked questions

Is Khdemli free to use?expand_more
Searching, reading profiles, browsing job photos and reading reviews are all completely free. Only unlocking a craftsman's contact details is paid, and it costs a few dirhams from your wallet.
Does Khdemli take a commission on my job?expand_more
No. The price of the work is agreed directly with the craftsman and paid off-platform. Khdemli takes nothing from that amount.
How long do I keep a craftsman's contact details?expand_more
An unlock gives you the full name, phone number and WhatsApp for 15 days. After that you can renew it if you still need the professional.
Why is the phone number not shown directly?expand_more
To protect craftsmen from mass marketing and automated number harvesting, and to make sure every introduction comes from a customer with a genuine need.
