The badge can be taken away
A badge is not granted for life. A number that stops answering, photos that turn out to be borrowed, repeated customer reports, an identity that does not match the person who shows up on site: in all of those cases verification is withdrawn and the profile can be suspended. That revocability is exactly what gives the badge its value — without it, it would be nothing more than a decoration.
